We woke up in Rotorua to a nice sulphur smell and decided to which of the thermal parks we would go. We ended up in Wai-o-tapu with the Lady Knox Geyser

Not as impressive as the one I have seen near Koblenz.

The park itself was very beautiful, many different pools, craters and lakes and we enjoyed it a lot. The smell was awful though!

We drove on to Taupo to buy some softshell pants for Mechiel and saw about 4 outdoor shops before we found a pair that was long enough.

Before our final stop for the night we did one little stop at the south side of lake Taupo where we had a coffee and read a book for a while

Our destination was a campsite at the foot of Mount Tongariro, because we were doing the Tongariro Alpine Crossing the next day. We drove down a field and set up camp in view of the mountain!
