The first few days
30 oktober 2019 - Tutukaka, Nieuw-Zeeland
Good morning everyone!
We’re here, we made it!
After I learned how to prepare my food on the plane:
And we could see landing and take off on the cameras (see video)
It took us only 8+10:45 hours to get here.
We spent a lovely Monday in Auckland, walking off our jetlag:
And going to bed at 20:00 so we could wake up in time to pick up the camper. We woke up in time... first time must have been about 22:30, I heard a baby in the room next to us :( after that I think I slept until 4:30 when all of a sudden a NZ criminal decided to run around our hotel area and was being chased by helicopters for an hour.. we watched a movie until it was time to get up.
Here he is, Appy the campervan! Super small but everything fits and we are quite happy with it.
We went by the supermarket and spent almost 2 hours getting all supplies and then drove north.
We did a few unsuccessfull tourist stops on the way until we came to Waipu caves.
We went in completely unprepared, but met some people on the way out who told us about the glow worms! We geared up with headlights and proper shoes and experienced the most amazing thing! Impossible to photograph though.
We decided to spend the night there as well, first night in the camper!
Again we woke up at 4:30.. jetlag leftover, but beautiful starry skies.
Today was an easy day doing some more caving and exploring the beach.
Time for bed now, see you later!
