More Tongariro, Koitiata & Wellington

It’s been a few days since the last update. Internet connection has not been good, but we had some amazing adventures.

The day after the crossing we did two more short hikes, to Silica Rapids and Taranaki Falls

The campsite was so nice that we decided to stay another night.

The next morning we drove up to the Meads Wall (another LOTR filming location) 

And after that down to Koitiata beach a beautiful little campsite on the west coast and walked to the beach full of driftwood from a previous flood

we spent a quiet night there and drove down to Wellington early in the morning. We spent the entire day in Te Papa museum and met up with Jeltsje at 17:00 for drinks and dinner.

she kindly let us stay the night in their guesthouse :-) and we’ll explore more of Wellington today.
